16. Step forward move, parry, and punch
Shift your weight to your right foot. At the same time, turn your body as far toward the left oblique as possible. As weight comes off your left foot and as your body turns, turn your left toe toward the left oblique also. Simultaneously, with the weight shift and body turn, lower your right hand until the palm faces is across toward your groin. More forward and transfer all of your weight to your left foot. As your body moves ahead, form a loose fist with your right hand. Coordinate the formation of the fist with your forward movement so that both end at the same instant. Take a small step straight forward with your right foot and set it down, heel first, pointing diagonally toward the right oblique. Transfer your weight to your right foot, allowing your right hand to lag behind you and to draw circle upward. Raise your two hands higher and then bring them forward, the left hand moving forward beside your head in a downward chop to a point in front of the heart, a little below shoulder height. The right hand makes a circle in front of you, at solar plexus height, and drops, knuckles down, at the side of your right thigh. As your hands move forward, step ahead with your left foot and set it down, heel first, pointing forward. Because the punch requires proper stance, insure that your foot placement provides enough length and width between the feet. As you step forward, rotate your body to your right so that it faces right oblique. Coordinate the movement of the hands and left foot so that all three reach their terminal positions at the same instant. Shift your weight forward until the most on your left foot. As you move ahead, raise your right fist and revolve it counterclockwise until it is vertical. Insure that your right elbow stays close to your side as you raise your fist. Complete the movement by rotating your body to left until your hips and shoulders face directly forward. Use this rotation to complete your right hand punch. The punch ends at the center of your body and the left hand set above the right hand.
